Cars painted with female anime and manga characters are pretty popular in Japan. Such a car is known as ‘Itasha’. Basically it involves otakus dressing up their cars with the likes of such characters whom they have built an obsession of over the period of their appearances. They can also include characters from video games such as RPGs or bishojos.

The best place to spot such cars is obviously in Akihabara, the heart of otaku-land in Japan. Often, itasha owners may also hold gatherings such as this to showcase their favorite anime and manga characters on their cars.
