Almost everyone text messages on public transport these days, anything from mushy messages to arranging for meetups. To make sure no one gets to peep at what you’re writing or what you’re giggling about, you’ve got to get your hands on one of these magic screens.
These magic screens are just like some of the polarized lcd screens in the market out there, so instead of trying to find a phone that comes with a screen like that, you can simply attach one to any existing phone.
The magic screen gets into action when it is viewed from an angle of 30 degrees or more, effectively blocking out anyone other than the user looking the screen directly. They come in a variety of colours and sizes, so most probably there will be one suitable for any gender and mobile phone.
Kjglobal is selling the magic screens at £14.99 (~S$41.39) each, and this will be good item to get for your handphone if you think your privacy is worth more than that.

Asus officially announces a new brother to the original Asus Eee PC, the Asus Eee PC 900 sporting a larger 8.9-inch screen, 12GB storage space and 1GB of RAM at CeBIT 2008.
Size and battery life of the Asus Eee PC 900 stays the same though, but you can be sure this new version is going to make yet another wave in the umpc market, with competitors such as the Nokia Internet tablet and the Everex Cloudbook.
Here’s a video of the Asus Eee PC 900 recorded right after press launch at CeBIT 2008. Notice the black strip running down the spine of the Eee PC, do not be bothered, it’s just the battery pack from a galaxy black coloured Eee PC.

If you have ever channel surfed onto Discovery Channel or watched an episode of The Deadliest Catch before, you will be aware that enormous Alaskan crabs do not arrive on the dinner table on their own, but are fished by dedicated groups of fisherman off the Bering sea in harsh Alaskan waters from the end of the year till the early months of the next, known as the king crab season.
This show is one of the most captivating and interesting I have ever seen, and is a reality-like documentary about the work of the fisherman and the relationship with their captains. One of the most famous of all would be Captain Sig Hansen of Norwegian ancestry, who operates the Northwestern, a large crab boat that rakes in the big bucks every season.
In the Deadliest Catch Alaskan Storm game, the player will roleplay as the captain of a ship, where they can choose a fishing vessel out of five to control. Obviously the most famous being the Northwestern and the Cornelia Marie. There is also a customising option where you get to build a complete boat of your own to face the raging Bering Sea.
With the help of the Hansen brothers, the game developers spent quite a bit of time designing the game to match as closely to reality as possible, making this a simulation game of some sorts.
The most interesting and exciting part of playing the game would definitely be riding the waves just like on tv; but at least your life would not be in peril after being slammed sideways by a rogue wave. Not forgetting the weather such as ice that makes the vessel top-heavy where you need to get your men to crack the ice or dump your pots somewhere fast.
The Deadliest Catch Alaskan Storm game will be available from April 2008 and you can check out www.discovery.com/deadliestcatch for videos of captains and crewmembers featured on Deadliest Catch tv series talking about the game.

Remember the good ‘ol days of SNES gaming on the TV? Now you can do it on the iPhone. The interesting is that the gamepad resides on the screen so you’ll have to ‘thumb’ the screen to play the game.
This emulator is available for both the iPhone and iPod touch and the latest version is capable of saving states and showing the game either in portrait or landscape mode.
The SNES emulator is currently in its beta stage and a new version that includes sound support will be out soon, as the current version is only able to run background music but not sfx yet.
Over at Gizmodo, they had a go at the snes4iphone emulator too and not surprisingly it played pretty well on the iPhone so there you go, a seal of approval from the big ones out there.
Here’s an earlier version of the iPhone Super Nintendo emulator in action:
The SNES emulator for the iPhone and iPod Touch has been released by ZODTTD and is available for download here.
Are you a fan of Lego who happens to like music as well? You’re in luck. This interesting item below is an Mp3 player disguised as a Lego brick, or the other way around depending on how you see it. Although these Mp3 players are not the official merchandise of Lego, they sure look like the real thing and will definitely be one of those must-get items for Lego fans out there.
The Lego Brick Mp3 player does comes with a waft of novelty and if you take a closer look you will notice that the controls are cleverly incorporated into the design as well by having the stacking bumps take on the role of the control buttons.
Sadly and unexpectedly, the player does not come with internal memory at all, meaning that you’ll have to get a separate microSD card to store the songs for playing with the device. Apart from that, the rechargeable Lithium-ion battery will run for a reasonable 6 hours.
The Homade Lego Mp3 player retails for US$46 at Homeloo.
As of post time the players have all been sold out. Hopefully they will be restocked very soon.

Here’s a video of the Asus Eee experiencing a torture test dished out by a man who could very well be a skeptic of laptop durability. The drop tests were performed with and without the sleeve, in its closed and open positions and just about any other way a butterfinger would drop it.
Will the Asus Eee PC withstand the torture? Watch the video to find out.
Want give your best friend a surprise? Give her an iPhone for her birthday. Hell, why not give her an edible iPhone instead, that’ll be the real surprise when she finds out that she can’t actually use it.
Jokes aside, this edible iPhone by Britta Peterson is made of modeling chocolate and took about 7 hours to make, including painting the individual icons by hand. Details such as the docking station port and speaker buttons were also added for a stronger touch of realism. Thumbs up for the coolness!

Since the announcement and launch of the MacBook Air at MacWorld 2008, there has been pretty much hype about the thinnest notebook in the world. Now, with a customization service by Colorware, your MacBook Air can be the thinnest pink notebook in the world!
Apple MacBook Air in Cotton Candy Pink
The official MacBook Air currently does not come in any colour other than white, but for users who want it in their favourite hue, they can satisfy their craving with this gadget colouring service by Colorware.
Besides the pink colour available, there’s a load of colours available as well, 14 solid colours and 20 metallic colours in all!
Donning a new colour for the MacBook Air doesn’t come cheap though. A new colour for the system base costs $500 with $50 for other additional customisations. With a MacBook Air in a different colour, it will look the most unique of the lot, maybe until Apple decides to release them in more colours like the iPod Nano.
