This laptop named ‘Transformer’ was displayed at the Korea Electronics Show 2007. It looks sleek and somehow the display area and the laptop look as if it was set up in honour of the pink female autobot, Arcee.

The ‘Transformer’ G70 laptop by Haier comes with a 17″ WXGA screen, an Intel Merom processor, holds up to 4GB of ram and has a Nvidia Go 7950 mobile graphics card installed in the system. Therefore it should be able pump out enough juice for a good round of 3D gaming and fast enough to handle graphics intensive operations.
There is currently no word on the pricing and availability of the laptop.
The Halo series is definitely the most successful title on the Xbox. Halo 3 registered US$170m on its launch day and servers were immediately flooded with tons of gamers bringing the network down to a cripple. With such a response, the product below seems redundant as the game itself would have done a perfect job of keeping clothes and underwear on bodies and not on the floor.

This Halo 3 condom with a spoof of the popular catchphrase is apparently a dud as a quick jump to Bungie’s online store yields no trace of such an item. Anyway, I am sure that the popularity of the game now will deny it from going into full production anytime soon.
If you regard your collection of optical discs as ammo for launching at your annoying sibling, then you’ll appreciate what Norazza Inc has done to ensure that they continue to work after being thrown like a frisbee across your living room.

The Piegato is a simple bookshelf that allows you to customise the number of shelves you actually want. Initially it is just a piece of sheet metal with etches and cuts on it but after a few simple tweaks it turns into a minimalistic and functional piece of furniture.

Toshiba is working with Manganovel to attract a wider audience to Japanese manga by bringing the Web 2.0 concept into the distribution of fansubs.

So how does it work?
Firstly, the manga is initially created by the artist in the native language. Next, the fans are able come up with their own subs for the manga and distribute it for downloaders. These subbers can then choose to sell their subs at a price of up to 2% of the comic novel price or to distribute it for free. If they decide to sell it at a price, they get a 50% cut of the income generated from their subs. All this is supported by Toshiba’s network and DRM will be applied to the manga and subs as well.
This not only encourages readers to get their fix legally, it also gives users the chance to earn income for contributing their translations. Last but not least, it provides budding manga artists the exposure they deserve.

Passing on jewellery to your daughter or daughter-in-law is so 1950s. Why not pass on your 24-carat gold iPod Nano instead? You can record your voice so that the future generations can hear their creepy ancestor’s voice and also put in a couple of Jay Chou’s songs so that they know the type of music people living in our time listened to.
Besides the gold iPod Nano, you should check out the iPhone, a MacBook Pro, and finally the iPod shuffle all encased in that precious metal humans have come to love, all in this post.

Chinese website sosol has released pictures of what’s believed to be Nokia’s new N100 handphone. They seem to be just concept pictures though. The phone sports a large screen and a slide-out qwerty keyboard. It is rumoured to be Nokia’s next generation gaming device after the demise of the N-Gage series by running the device on a faster processor, adding a 3D graphics chip and continuing support to the N-Gage Arena gaming network.

We all know that the iPod Nano is designed to be slim enough to fit into the pockets of pants. First there came the reports about broken screens after the phones were subjected to stress due to flexing while in user’s pockets. Now, it has incredibly managed to set a man’s pants on fire! I have read news about mercury from the broken iPod screen leaking and causing the batteries to heat up before but certainly haven’t heard of one that actually burst into flames. Is the iPod getting more and more dangerous by the day?

Danny Williams, of all places was working at a kiosk in Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport when he found flames reaching up to his chest from his pocket. Apparently his pants had caught fire from the iPod Nano he had kept in his pocket and the only thing that shielded him from getting burnt was a piece of glossy paper kept in the same pocket.
“I’m still kind of freaked out that after only a year and a half my iPod caught fire in my pocket,” said Williams.
This is the first time I’ve read that an iPod could potentially cause a major disaster, considering the location at which the incident happened. Hopefully the engineers behind the device would take this matter seriously.

How many of you remember the Hello Kitty mania back in 2000, when McDonalds started the mad rush for Hello Kitty and Dear Daniel soft toys with every meal in Singapore.
Incredibly it even caused a glass door to shatter at one of the outlets due to the overwhelming crowd. I was a studying in Temasek Polytechnic then and although I had been guilty of buying a couple of soft toys too, I was lucky to get them at the less crowded outlets.
7 years from now, the Hello Kitty craze may have simmered down but it is still the ultimate passion for many Hello Kitty fans out there.
Three Hello Kitty related items have surfaced on the internet this week and somehow I feel a little influenced by the heat too. The first of the trio is a set of solid gold playing cards, followed by the ‘Sexy Girl Collection’ series of handphone accessories and finally the USB Desk Fan.
1. Solid Gold Hello Kitty Playing cards

This is the ultimate Hello Kitty solid gold playing cards. Priced at 567,000 yen(approx SGD$7,172) the cards are currently being sold via Sanrio’s online shop in celebration of Hello Kitty’s 33rd anniversary. The cards measure at 58 x 89 mm and is made from 0.73 grams of 99.99% gold.
