Starhub and partner EZ-link has come up with a technology that allows users to perform EZ-link transactions with their handphones. Finally what we have seen in Japan has come to Singapore!

The technology is on trial currently with selected users. Each of them are given a handphone for use from Singapore handphone manufacturer iWOW for the 6-month trial. The phone contains two chips, one of which is a chip that functions like an EZ-Link card and another NFC chip that allows the downloading of promotional or useful information from special smart-tag enabled posters.
