Playing Action Games Improves Eyesight

The truth is out, playing video games actually improves eyesight! According to a report by Reuters, playing action games improved the eyesight of students over a period of 9 weeks totaling 50 hours of gameplay.

These students were divided into two groups for the study where one group played shooting games such as Call of Duty 2 and Unreal Tournament 2004 while the others played The Sims 2.

The group that played shooting games displayed an improvement in their eyesight for differentiating slight changes in shades while the other group that played Sims 2 showed no improvement at all.

I bet gamers who play action games regularly have faster reflexes as well, apart from the beneficial improvement in visual perception.
