SP3 To Offer 10% Performance Boost On Windows XP









Here’s another reason not to upgrade to Windows Vista. On an article in Yahoo! News dated 26 November 2007, it was reported that “an upcoming update for Windows XP will offer substantial performance gains.”

Software development company Devil Mountain Software also reported that on tests conducted for Vista SP1, Vista continues to run slower than XP albeit minor performance gains.

During office productivity performance tests, Windows XP with SP3 ran the fastest at 36 seconds, followed by Windows XP SP2 at 4 seconds later and lastly Vista, which ran the slowest completing its set of scripted tasks at 90 seconds.
