The Gold Bar Doorstop
Do you wake up in a antique Qing dynasty royal bed, and wash your hands off a golden tap? If you do, nobody will know about it until you get the conversation started right at the door. Industrial designer Arik Levy came up with this doorstop in the form of a gold bar. Clearly with this, you will be able to illustrate your financial clout to house-visitors.
The doorstop is made of cast-iron and aluminium with a gold-plated finish. An interesting feature is the date printed on the gold bar — the day that the London Stock Exchange finally allowed female admissions. The price of this item is about SGD$115 (US$79).
