Tomy ‘Auto Mee S’ is the Tiny Automatic Screen Cleaner Robot For Tablet and Smartphones

Automatic vacuum cleaners that move on their own to clean the house is nothing new, but take that idea and put it to use on a tablet and smartphone is a pretty interesting idea, so here’s a tablet and smartphone screen cleaner that does just that.

Instead of you having to wipe dust, dirt and fingerprints off the screen of your mobile device, this mini robot called the ‘Auto Mee S’ from Takara Tomy does it for you. It comes with rotating cleaning pads and runs on rubber wheels and when placed on the display screen of a tablet or smartphone, will go about on its own to clean the surface of the screen. It’s smart enough to detect the edge of the screen so it won’t fall off as it cleans the screen.

For a smartphone it takes about 4 minutes to have it go around cleaning every inch of its screen while for tablets it will take up to 8 minutes. While certainly not a world record of sorts, it still gets the job done without you having to clean it on your own, making it your little screen cleaner robotic friend.

A cool item that is probably much more cuter than it is functional.

The Tomy ‘Auto Mee S’ comes in four colors, orange, blue, pink, white, and is slated for a March 2013 launch at 1,575 yen in Japan.
